West Buckland - Lessons for all ages and abilities.

West Buckland pool is situated within the beautiful grounds of West Buckland School, a school which Olympic and World Champion Jonathon Edwards attended. The pool is 25m, has four lanes and is heated. The depth starts at 0.9m and slowly increases to 1.8m, there are steps at both ends allowing safe entry. There is a good designated seating area for spectators, changing rooms, toilets and showers.

At this pool we teach all ages and all abilities to swim and to be safe in the water. We follow the Amateur Swimming Association’s National Plan for Teaching Swimming which is a journey through Aquatics focusing on FUNdamentals. If the parent and child wish, we will also test for other awards like personal survival, diving, cub and brownie badges etc.

Each course is 12 weeks long and only runs in school term time.

In the summer holidays we do offer crash courses of 1 hour a day for 3 consecutive days.

Lessons are held:

Tuesdays 5.15pm to 6.45pm

Thursdays 5.15pm to 6.45pm

Fridays 5.15pm to 6.45pm

Saturday 9am to 11.30am

Sunday 9am to 11.30am

The Double Nappy system is compulsory for all non-potty trained children at this pool.

Each course costs £69.00 and can be payable in full or in 2 instalments.

Directions

From Barnstaple & Bideford From link road head towards South Molton, take 1st turning left signposted West & East Buckland. Go up the hill and through West Buckland Village, follow road round for approximately 1 mile, the school is then on your left.

From Ilfracombe Drive towards Blackmoor Gate and South Molton via Combe Martin. At Blackmoor Gate follow signs for Bratton Fleming and South Molton. Approximately 5 miles is turning on right for East and West Buckland. At 1st Crossroads go straight on, at 2nd crossroads turn right towards West Buckland. School is 1st building on right.
